Papa Joe's Banjo-B-Que Bluegrass Festival and Barbecue Cook-off was created to honor Joe Pond and some of the things he loved most: toe-tapping bluegrass music and finger-licking good barbecue in an atmosphere the entire family can enjoy.

Our main music stage gets started on Friday with excellent bluegrass bands entertaining fans and cookers as they enjoy our fun steak cook-off for bragging rights.  

On Saturday, we open our gates before noon and music gets started shortly after.  The main stage and saloon stage both host bands throughout the day so that bluegrass can be heard non-stop on the festival grounds.

Our Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned cook-off is in full swing by Saturday afternoon with the winners in four different categories plus overall champions being crowned by evening and taking home a combined $40,000 in prize money.

Sounds like a lot going on, right!  Not enough for us!  

Our saloons serve only the best, including a great selection of craft beers that festival-goers love taste-testing.  Plus, we've got a petting zoo and carnival rides for kids to enjoy and everyone loves the pig races.  Vendors from across the area have original arts and crafts on sale and our Banjo merch shop is open to make sure every fan wanting Banjo-B-Que memorabilia gets exactly what they want!

Papa Joe most certainly would have loved everything about Banjo-B-Que and we're sure you will too!
